-
In the case of a female dog, you must familiarize yourself with the signs and be able to identify when the female enters her heat cycle and notify the breeder immediately. *The female heat cycle can last up to 3 weeks at which time you may need to use doggy diapers.
-
Take care of regular pet related expenses such as vaccinations, deworming, and grooming and keep this up to date. *Any expenses related to the breeding of the dog would be the breeder's responsibility, as well as spaying or neutering the dog upon their retirement from the program.
-
Feed the parent dog high quality food to ensure optimal health of dog as well as any future litters they produce. *We stock high quality food for our dogs and would provide you with this at a discounted price should you choose to stick with the food we use.
-
Understand that the dog would have to come and stay with us as needed throughout the year. We will explain this in more detail when we talk about male and female guardians below.
-
Maintain a grooming schedule every 6-8 weeks as well as brushing and nail clipping between grooms.
-
Provide Dynamic Doodles NL with monthly photo updates of the dog.
-
If the parent dog is a female, she would need to be kept away from any intact males during her heat cycle and alternatively any intact males in our breeding program would need to be kept away from any outside females that are in heat.
-
Breeder must be notified immediately if the dog becomes ill or is involved in an accident.
-
Guardian family must be willing to sign a detailed contract agreeing to the above.
We realize this may look lengthy, but it is what we would expect from any responsible puppy owner.
We are very particular about where we place our guardian dogs and we want to make sure there is complete understanding surrounding what is required.
